A collection born from sunshine, underglaze, and the thrill of trying something completely new.
Released in April 2024, Baby Steps was our very first ceramic collection—and our first time ever participating in a local market here in Cyprus. We shared this collection at the Street Life Festival in Limassol. It was a huge moment for us, even if everything felt a bit wobbly (literally and figuratively).
What sets Baby Steps apart is the way it blends the joyful chaos of play with the steady hand of adult ambition. There’s something both naïve and sincere about these pieces—each one full of character, charm, and unpolished honesty. Nothing here is perfect. But that’s what makes it all so lovable.
The creative process behind Baby Steps was… pure joy. It was the beginning of it all.
We had just bought our very first pottery wheel and set it up in our tiny backyard. I’d throw pots out there in the sunshine, surrounded by plants, trying to figure out how clay actually works (spoiler: it’s harder than it looks).
We didn’t have a big shelf of glazes to choose from back then, so we leaned into what we did have—underglaze paints—and let color and brushwork lead the way.
Every piece was painted by hand, then finished with a simple transparent glaze to let the raw work shine through. No fancy tricks. Just a lot of experimentation, some happy accidents, and a ton of laughter in between.
Looking back, Baby Steps might have been the time I felt the most free. There was no pressure to be anything or anyone. No style to live up to. No expectations to meet. Just the clay, the sun, and the excitement of starting something we truly loved.
It was real.
